چکیده

The Botanical Plant Modelling System (BPMS) [1] [2] is used to simulate the directional reflectance of a barley canopy. The ability of linear BRDF model kernels to describe the directional reflectance of this canopy relatively accurately is confirmed. Rather than accepting this as a (form of) 'validation' of the simple model, a more interesting line is followed whereby the factors controlling the reflectance field of the canopy (proportion of sunlit/shaded leaves/soil and respective phase functions) are calculated within the BPMS and compared with the way in which they are modelled in the linear model. This is used to investigate the nature of the relationship between the 'apparent' (linear model) canopy parameters (LAI, leaf reflectance etc.) and the 'actual' (BPMS) parameters.

A new investigation on modeling of permeability reduction during CO2 flooding processes in sandstone oil reservoirs

Permeability reduction in oil reservoirs during primary oil recovery and using the enhanced oil recovery methods are complicated problem which most of the oil field in worlds has encountered. In this work, a modified model based on four phase black oil model (oil, water, gas, and asphaltene) was developed to account permeability reduction during CO2 flooding in cylindrical coordinates around a ...

Relative Efficiency Measurement of Banks Using Network DEA Model in Uncertainty Situation

Traditional DEA method considered decision making units (DMUs) as a black box, regardless of their internal structure and appraisal performance with respect to the final inputs and outputs of the units. However, in many real systems we have internal structure. For this reason, network DEA models have been developed. Parallel network DEA models are a special variation which inputs of unit alloca...

The Botanical Plant Modelling System (BPMS): A Case Study of Multiple Scattering in a Barley Canopy

A complex geometric model for describing the 3D structure of plant canopies is presented. The Botanical Plant Modelling System (BPMS) allows a complete (topologically accurate) 3D geometric description of a canopy to be constructed. The model can be used for simulating the optical scattered radiation field of plant canopies, soil, or other topography through Monte Carlo ray tracing, which provi...

Rainfall-runoff modelling using artificial neural networks (ANNs): modelling and understanding

In recent years, artificial neural networks (ANNs) have become one of the most promising tools in order to model complex hydrological processes such as the rainfall-runoff process. In many studies, ANNs have demonstrated superior results compared to alternative methods. ANNs are able to map underlying relationship between input and output data without prior understanding of the process under in...
